Every year the Decanter World Wine Awards reward the best wines in different appellations around the World. For this 2019 edition the Château de Meursault is very proud of his wines’ sucess. Within the 15 000 samples from the whole world, 3 365 were from France, 385 from Burgundy and among all of these 15 000 wines, 2 were awarded by the “Best in Show” Medal at the decanter World Wine Awards rewarding the 50 best wines of the competition.

The Best in Show is the ultimate award of the Decanter World Wine Awards. In a separate tasting process, the 3 co-chairs will select the “Best in Show” from among the Platinum winners (Minimum 97 points out of 100). During the evaluation for the ultimate award, the 3 co-presidents will know the origins, grape varieties, vintages and price ranges.

The two legendary appellations rewarded by the “Best in Show” Medal of the Château de Meursault are:
Pommard Clos des Epenots 1er Cru millésime 2017: 97/100
Les Charmes Dessus Meursault 1er Cru millésime 2017: 97/100

Platinum Medal :
The wines awarded by a gold medal are again categorized by grape variety or style and subjected to a new tasting by a panel of regional presidents and co-presidents. Wines are evaluated according to their origin and the members of the jury know the countries, regions, sub-regions, grape varieties, vintages and price ranges.
